A photo captures a moment, but a portrait captures something more. It holds the way you carried yourself, the way your hand rested on your belly without you even thinking about it.
These are small details, and they matter more later than they do right now, once this season has fully passed. Photographs tend to fade into a folder somewhere, while a painted piece stays visible, every single day, on an actual wall.

A background in classical music and early childhood education shaped how I direct a session. Patience matters just as much as technique, especially with a body that changes week to week.

I plan lighting, wardrobe, and posing around how you want to feel, rather than pulling from a generic template. That photograph becomes the foundation, and everything else gets built from it, one layer at a time. Nothing about the process gets rushed, including the decision about what to wear.
The Best Timing for a Session
Most sessions work best between 28 and 34 weeks. At this point, the shape of pregnancy reads clearly on camera, and you’re still comfortable enough to move through several poses without strain.
Book too early, and the moment isn’t quite there yet. Wait too long, and comfort becomes the bigger challenge, so a little planning early on makes the whole session easier later.
From Photography to Fine Art
Once we choose the strongest image, the real transformation begins. Oil paint, gels, and visible brush strokes get applied by hand, right over a fine art print of your photograph.
The result carries texture a flat photo never could, and it reads as art rather than simply an enlarged snapshot. This is where a session becomes a keepsake, not just a record of how you looked.
